SCHNEIDER AND WAGER GO OVER THE WALL IN TWO HIGH SCORING GAMES
With West Nile eradicated from Riverside Park thanks to the D.O.H., we played at our own risk.
First game Hewes won 14-7 in 7 innings. What was interesting in this game
was back to back grandslams in two half innings. Palma hit one for Rosengard's team and Wager hit one for Hewes'
team. In the second game, Connor pitched against Appell and Connor won 14-1.
Connor pitched with modified arc and the hitters kept flying out or grounding out.
Schneider homered for the second time in two games. Both shots over the wall.
It was tough umpiring Connor's arcs and Schneider felt that I was too persnickety with my
judgments.
We had one new player who found the game on the Web and that was Karen Mockrin who played second base for
Connor's team and who doubled in three ABs. We also had other players that were new to the league and they played very
well also. Everybody was hitting and Savell went 5/7 trying to stay above .700.
