DOBBS FERRY METS BURY DOBBS FERRY YANKEES IN SEVENTH GAME OF WORLD SERIES - OCTOBER 15TH, 2000

METS 10, YANKEES 5

That is right what you read, we had a theme game.  All 24 players were asked to choose a team with the situation Mets-Yankees World Series 7th game.  Rosengard pitched for the Mets and Hewes for the Yankees. This was the opener of 2 for 9 innings.  HIGHLIGHTS: Connor drove in 4 runs with a 3-run homer and a double.  Rosengard pitched well getting a lot of ground balls and flies to the outfield.  Schneider hit a solo blast for the Yankees and Martinez homered a solo for the METS.  Hewes had good control and threw a lot of fast balls.

Second game was supposed to be long pants vs. short pants but that idea was rejected and teams were drawn up by positions.

HEWES' TEAM 8, ROSENGARD'S 6

This was a hard fought game going 7 innings.  Highlights were both offense and defense.  Kotik made the catch of the game leaping over the fence snaring a homer and tearing up his back but he stayed in the game getting a round of applause.  Offense: Kotik , Balento, Mark G. homered for Hewes and Ian and Josh homered for Rosengard. The game was tied at 6 going into the bottom seven when Kotik doubled and mark G. homered to end the game.  Hewes pitched out of a jam in the 6th loading the bases by walking Palma to face Debbie who went deep in the count and finally striking out on a low change up.

Time of the first game was 100 minutes and time of the 2nd game was a manageable 70 minutes.  Attendance at both games was 1.
