 ROSENGARD WINS 16-13 IN A SLUGFEST

On a steamy morning 17 players showed up and Rosengard pitched for the
visitors and Hewes pitched for the Home team. After 2 the home team
led 6-3.Visitors had 2 golden glove infielders out of their positions
in the wet outfield .Visitors showed plenty of offence scoring 8 in
the third and Home team came back with 3 in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th to
knot the game at 11. The turning point came when Hewes struck out with
the bases loaded in the 5th to kill a rally. Offense for the visitors
included Indek 3/5;Naranjo 4/4with a 2b;Rosengard 3/3;and Schmerler
who continues hitting well after breaking out of a slump 8/5/00 going
3/3 with 3 RBI triple in the 3rd. Home team offence included O'Sullivan
3/6;Liebowitz 4/4 with 4 RBI; Balento 3/5 and Holzwasser 5/5.

SCHMERLER PITCHES A 7 HITTER AND WINS 10-5 IN 2ND GAME

Gil Schmerler walked in from right field to pitch the 2nd game. Appell
pitched for the visitors. Home team was powered by Newman who went 3/3
with a Sac and 3 RBI; Joe Geller with a 2B and 2 RBI; Inserro with 3B
and scoring 2.Appell took the loss but had offense from Lebowitz
who went 3/4 including a solo HR; and Balento with a solo shot in the 3rd.
Schmerler consistently threw off speed with some arc that kept the
visitors flying out and grounding out.
