SEPTEMBER 30, 2001 DOBBS FERRY APPELL IS DENIED A SHUTOUT IN THE OPENER AND WINS 16-2 IN 7 Jeff Appell retired 8 with a BB before Rosengard broke up the no hitter in the 3rd and then he went on the pitch brilliantly before the 7th. Then the home team scored 2 runs, all on 4 singles. Appell gave up 7 hits with 1 BB and his team committed 0 errors. Rosengard lost going 7 giving up 9 runs in the first 2 innings powered by a grand slam by Lebowitz in the 2nd. Ian homered again in the 7th and Dan Schneider homered in the 4th and 6th both 2 run shots. Ian and Dan produced 9 RBIs and Josh Geller produced 3 RBIs with doubles in the 1st and 6th. Lawrence went 5/6 and Appell, D'Allesio, Naranjo had 3 hits each. Holtwasser, Palma, Cohen each had 3 hits. Balento had 3BB. Joe brought 2 boxes of Donuts to celebrate his and this writer's birthday.
