Technical Requirements: This website is optimized for a 32-bit (16 million) color display, running at a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels or better. The enhanced features of this site require the use of a JavaScript capable browser, such as Netscape Navigator/Communicator or Microsoft Internet Explorer browser versions 4.0 or higher for proper performance. Should your current browser not meet this specification, you should obtain a more recent version from your provider or download one from either Netscape (www.netscape.com/download/) or Microsoft (www.microsoft.com/ie/). Unfortunately, some of the more advanced and "jazzy" features of this website can only be experienced through Internet Explorer.

Design/Coding Software: The current version of this constantly-evolving website was created using Microsoft FrontPage 2002 (purchased as part of the Office XP Professional Special Edition upgrade, although also available as a stand-alone application; FrontPage 2003 will be released shortly and solely as a stand-alone), which I recommend as a powerful and well-designed program, the basics of which can readily be grasped. I also use various graphics programs such as Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8.0, and its Animation Shop 3.0 module.

Articles/.PDF Format: Virtually all published articles appearing in the website are displayed in 750 pixels wide .GIF image versions, except for a few that are provided in a wider size to allow for even minimal readability. The .GIF image format provides an efficient means of viewing documents on-line, without the need for an image viewer. These images can be accessed by clicking on the following button appearing after their citation: In addition, all materials are also offered in Adobe Acrobat .PDF format (I use Acrobat 5.05; version 6 is now available), requiring the use of the Acrobat Reader browser plug-in viewer (version 3.0 or better), available for free at the Adobe website (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html). After installing that plug-in, these images can be accessed by clicking on the following button instead: The .PDF file format and viewer allow for enhanced reading and printing capabilities over simple embedded .GIF files.

Illustrations: Virtually all photographs and artwork appearing on the pages of this website are hot-linked to full-screen (750 pixels wide) versions of them. Photographs are generally provided in .JPG format; drawings in .GIF format, due to the particular efficiencies and facilities of those formats.

Music: I create and record music with Cakewalk Sonar XL 2.2. High-fidelity MP3 (a currently popular compressed audio format) versions of musical selections are provided; free MP3 players are available at sites such as www.mp3.com.

Search Engine Promotion: I maintain the visibility of the site among leading Internet search engines with Cyberspace HQ's AddWeb WebSite Promoter 6.0, and remain amazed at the effectiveness of this relatively inexpensive and straightforward tool.
